After the August 14th drop, Pavel Durov asked if he should "issue new gifts with even stricter restrictions." And it wasn't a byte—he actually made the restrictions stricter.
In addition to the Premium subscription and the limited quantity per user, the new drop also includes a time limit on gift purchases. The older your account, the earlier you can buy a gift.
For example, my account is 9 years old, so I can only buy a gift 5 hours after the drop.
And it worked! This is probably the first drop since May that wasn't sold out within 1 minute.
